YEAR 11 MAKING IT COUNT
It’s not about counting the days but making each day count.
As our Year 11 students approach their final months before their examinations, it is not about counting the days but making each day count. We want every student to make full use of the wide range of support programmes and activities that are being made available to them and this page is designed to centralise information for students and their parents.
This year’s Year 11 Raising Achievement Plan got off to a flying start with a hugely successful motivational session aimed at developing the students’ study skills. The sessions, delivered by Elevate Education, are designed to equip students with a range of really practical revision skills and exam ‘know how’. The sessions also help students to understand how effective time management can help them to feel in control of their learning and can, therefore, minimise stress.
FHS parents/carers have access to Elevate’s monthly webinars to help them support their children at home. These webinars explore topics such as exams, stress, technology, time management, and more.
Subject Intervention Sessions
As part of our Year 11 Raising Achievement Plan, we have identified where certain students may benefit from additional support to enable them to reach their potential in the upcoming PPEs. This support is in the form of departmentally organised intervention sessions taught by subject specialists. These sessions, at present, are by invitation only. Further interventions will take place for certain students after the forthcoming PPEs w/c 29.11.2021.
