CHARITY

Students and staff at FHS recognise the importance of playing their part to improve the lives of others through coming together to support chosen charitable causes. FHS students are nurtured to become citizens of the community with a caring and cooperative outlook. Whether in response to national/international events, or chosen causes close to the hearts of students and their families, charitable work at FHS is thriving.

Our Student Charity Committee was established in Summer 2019 and now supports and oversees the school’s many fundraising activities. This year we had 17 students as members of the committee attending a meeting each term to discuss the charities they wished to support and coming up with innovative ideas as to how they could raise money. They regularly demonstrate their skills as a team, sharing ideas across the year groups with confidence and enthusiasm. They have also given up evenings to welcome and show hospitality to new starters and their families at the BBQ and Family Pizza Night events whilst proudly wearing full school uniform.

Charities that have been supported by Formby High School during the last three years:

  • Brain Tumour Charity
  • Children in Need
  • Southport Hospital Dementia Ward
  • Homeless (Design Thinking Fundraiser)
  • Save the Children
  • Uganda
  • The Whitechapel Centre
  • Rohingya Refugee Fund
  • Liverpool Women’s Hospital Neonatal Unit

In addition to cash donations, members of the school community have generously donated in other ways, including hampers, care packages and toys.

Thank you to the whole FHS Community for your incredible generosity and community spirit!
