A big FHS welcome to all our new Year 7 students joining us in September 2026!

We are delighted you have chosen Formby High School for your secondary education and we look forward to working with all parents and students to ensure the next five to seven years are enjoyable, challenging and highly rewarding.

Throughout the transition process, we communicate with our new parents by email via the address you used to submit your preference to Sefton in October. We are confident that you will enjoy this transition process and that your child will be fully supported during this important milestone for them. Becoming part of the FHS family will be an experience they won’t forget and we are very much looking forward to meeting everyone over the coming weeks.

Transition Programme 2026

Parents of all children who have been offered a place in Year 7 at Formby High School in September 2026 received welcome letters in early March 2026 featuring full information on our fabulous transition programme.

Induction Day (25 June 2026)

This year the Sefton-wide induction day is Thursday 25 June 2026 and we very much look forward to welcoming our new students to FHS for this special day. Initial information about arrangements for the day have been provided in the welcome letter to parents and more will follow as the big day approaches!

New Year 7 Parent Information Evening (29 June 2026)

All parents of students joining FHS Year 7 in September are invited to an important information evening which will take place on Monday 29 June 2026 at 6pm in the School Hall. The purpose of the evening is to give parents important information about starting school in September and life at Formby High School. In addition, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and meet the school’s Senior Leadership Team and Year 7 Pastoral Team. This information evening is for parents only – due to space limitations students should not attend.

Summer School 2026

We are delighted to be able to offer students a unique opportunity to familiarise themselves with Formby High School and make new friends in advance of the new school year through our Summer School. This year, we have included an exciting trip on the final day, touring Liverpool’s iconic landmarks! Please find attached a brochure providing more information about the programme content and pricing. Places do tend to sell very quickly so we would encourage you to reserve your child’s place as soon as possible.

Term Dates 2026/27

The start of the 2026/27 school year is on Tuesday 1 September 2026. Students should arrive to school at 8:45am to start their welcome assembly at 8:50am.

We encourage parents to keep in touch with all key diary dates by regularly checking the Key Diary Dates – Formby High School web page.

School Uniform

The school has two approved uniform suppliers, Whittakers Schoolwear (Southport) and Monkhouse Schoolwear Specialists (Crosby) who both provide in-store and online uniform sales.

The school has two local suppliers of our branded items (see below) with all non-branded items purchased from a retailer of your own choice.

Communications

Please remember that email is the primary method of communication with parents at FHS. Up until September, we will communicate with you from our transition@ email to the email address you used to submit your admission preferences to Sefton.

At Formby High School we try very hard to keep parents regularly informed about what is happening at school and, in the interests of efficiency (time and financial), we prioritise the use of electronic communication. As you and your child prepare for transition, we encourage you to keep in regular contact with our website (www.formbyhighschool.com) and, in particular, the admissions/new starters section for all up to date information relating to students entering Year 7 in September 2026. We would also encourage you to follow us on Instagram (@formbyhs) and X (@FormbyHigh) to keep up to date with real time news and information.

Formby High School uses Arbor as our school information system and our primary source of communications with parents and students. We will be writing to you during the summer term with instructions on how you can register and set up your parent apps to ensure you are fully connected and receiving all school communications via the system prior to your child’s admission in September.
