PASTORAL CARE

The uniqueness of individuals is highly valued at Formby High School and we make great efforts to place the nurturing of our students’ talents is at the heart of all that we do.

We place particular importance on pastoral care and personal development, and provide every Year Seven student with the security of being placed in a smaller than average tutor group when they first join us. We make sure students then retain the same form teacher and Climate for Learning Leader throughout their time with us.

The benefits of doing this are significant in terms of consistency of care, support and guidance.

Further care is provided by our Climate for Learning Leaders who are assigned to year groups and by our committed team of pastoral staff who are based in the on-site Student Support Centre.

All teachers and staff at Formby High School do not accept second best in terms of standards of behaviour and our students are expected to work hard, respect themselves and others.

At the end of their time with us our students leave Formby High School as young adults equipped with the skills, qualifications, determination and confidence to succeed in life.
