Last October, shortly after National Poetry Day, our English Department entered a number of students into the Young Writers ‘Empowered’ poetry competition, designed to inspire students to wite about something they feel passionately about and express themselves through poetry. We are absolutely delighted to confirm that 32 students have since been selected for publication in Young Writers ‘Empowered – Words to Make a Change’. We will, of course, update you with the link to this online publication as soon as it is published. This is a fantastic acknowledgement of the poetic skills our students have acquired and, of course, the passion for the subject matter they have chosen. The winning themes range from Equal Rights to Save the Environment, Stand Up to Hate, Self Love, Our World and Self Love! Congratulations to everyone involved and we look forward to reading your powerful words!
