Another proud day at Formby High School!

Formby High School is celebrating more outstanding GCSE results in this year. The ‘Class of 2025’ has excelled, achieving some of the highest results in the school’s history, surpassing records set in 2024.

Particular highlights include:

Further English and Maths success – results in these key subjects rose once again, with 78% students achieved at least a Grade 4 in both subjects, while the proportion of students achieving Grade 5 or better rising once more, to an impressive 69%.
Continuing strong attainment across the curriculum – great success has been achieved in both GCSE and vocational subjects. 86% of all entries scored Grade 4 or above, with 71% reaching a Grade 5 or more. Achievement in the vast majority subjects remains well above the national average, with exceptional outcomes in a number of academic and vocational qualifications.
More high achievers and personal success – A third of all grades were awarded at Grade 7 or above, and with 17 students attaining at least nine Grade 7s or more. In total, 105 Grade 9s were awarded to students, with a number of students achieving quite exceptional grades.

The majority of students will be returning to Formby High School’s Sixth Form and there was great excitement as they enrolled on their new courses this morning. We look forward to seeing them in September, and to welcoming a number of new students to the school community. For those who are venturing on to pastures new, they leave with our very best wishes and thanks for all they have contributed to the life of the school.
