Team Formby High is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Artsmark Platinum by Arts Council England.

Gaining Artsmark Platinum Award is a significant achievement and recognises the substantial commitment to embedding arts culture and creativity across your whole school. Feedback received from the assessors acknowledges the fantastic work undertaken by staff and students across the Creative Arts:

We know the work and effort that this takes and would like to use this opportunity to thank you as the Artsmark lead for completing an Artsmark journey. We hope you have seen the real impact that you have had.

Can we come to your school, please? It sounds brilliant! We were impressed by your strong, long-term commitment to the transformative power of the arts, which is making a difference to arts-based practice within school, to other professionals within the local area with some national working, and to the wider public.

There is SLT and strong arts-led governor support. Pupils can access an established range of timetabled provision throughout the school, with a good qualification offer at KS4/5 (and increased uptake), alongside extra-curricular activities with good uptake, and Arts Award delivery. Strengths of your application include your pupil leadership opportunities through Future Dance Leaders, Drama Tech Crew and Creative Ambassadors, and your cultural leadership of the LCEP and active part within developing the Sefton Cultural Strategy.

Your new SEND base sounds great, as does increased participation of SEND students in activities. Your projects and partnerships are good, such as the totem project with the Liverpool Biennial and other partners. We get a sense of your ethos and the overall impact from your application. You are clearly making an impact on pupils within the arts, demonstrated through your increased uptake. Your arts specialist staff are supporting others locally”.

To gain the award, schools must provide evidence around the Quality Principles which are embedded throughout the Artsmark framework to support schools in achieving their ambitions for a high-quality arts and cultural provision for all children and young people, within, across and outside the curriculum.

The seven Quality Principles are:
