LEGALLY MINDED

A group of Year 9 students had a great time last Monday visiting the Civil and Family Court in Liverpool.  Students met both a criminal and family judge as well as a medical practitioner who helps judges in certain cases.  Students were able to ask questions and the judges were great in sharing what day to day life was like working in a court, what made them want to become judges and what A Levels they took in order to enter a career in law.  Students then did a role play of a trial with their very own judge, barristers, ushers, clerks, witnesses and jury.  The case was fictional but was based on a real case of cyber bullying over social media.  It was great to see lots of interest in this trip and hopefully more can happen in the future.
