On Wednesday 25 February over 100 students from across all years at FHS took part in our annual dance extravaganza, The Groove at The Atkinson theatre in Southport.  This annual event never ceases to amaze its audience with the brilliant dance talent at FHS and this year was certainly no exception.  A sustained and vibrant passion and provision for dance has been a mainstay of the school’s reputation in the performing arts, which allows our students to express, challenge and develop themselves far beyond the classroom.  Whether fun pieces by our newest recruits in Year 7 with their ‘Do it like the Zombies do’ piece from Disney’s Zombies 2 movie, or inspirational and thought-provoking pieces by our older students inspired by big issues facing the world today, such as Motor Neurone Disease or the refugee crisis, the talent spans right across the school.  Well done to all the dancers and to the staff behind the scenes who continue to inspire, develop and produce such amazing performances.  There is a busy creative arts programme ahead with upcoming events, so watch this space!
