SIXTH FORM MATTERS

Sixth Form has been a hive of activity over recent weeks with a series of guest speakers and events.

Carl from Lancaster University delivered a presentation to students on how to approach choosing the right course and university.  Carl also gave students an insight into life at Lancaster University, including exploring the collegiate system, accommodation and university societies.

Sixth Form alumni Lewis visited to deliver a workshop to students on degree level apprenticeship opportunities with CISCO. He is currently an apprentice with them completing his degree at Roehampton University; we loved hearing about everything he has been doing since leaving us and appreciate him sharing his apprenticeship story with the students.  Jan from Amazing Apprenticeships has delivered assemblies this week ahead of presenting workshops with students next month.

As part of our Personal Development Programme, Emma from Claire House spoke with students in Year 12 about partaking in the Legend Award (Claire House Hero Awards – Claire House Children’s Hospice), and during Enrichment Diversity Rolemodels delivered a session with students on equality in the UK.  We are also pleased to share that two of our Year 12 students, Beth and Charlotte, have secured places on the Lucy Cavendish College Cambridge Academic Enrichment Programme.  This involves attending subject specific enrichment classes from November until March, experiencing additional subject taster sessions and completing a Supercurriular Enrichment Project in May.
