On 9 December our talented Music Department singers contributed to the annual Alder Centre Candle Service in the inspiring setting of the Lady Chapel in Liverpool Cathedral. This is a beautiful, annual event that supports and celebrates the fantastic work undertaken by the Alder Centre for bereaved parents and families, providing an opportunity for reflection, remembrance and hope. Members of Mundo Afrika and G:Force Gospel Choir merged to perform two songs as part of the beautiful service – ‘Lost Without You’ and ‘Seasons of Love’.

As part of our ongoing support for the Alder Centre, our Music Department spearheaded a charity single project, bringing together school and community choir voices from across Merseyside, to record both remotely and here in school. Composed by our Music team and G:Force members, ‘Light of your Life’ is a stunning, hopeful song which reflects the unique nature of the Alder Centre and its role in supporting the community. The song has been released on iTunes and streaming services and all proceeds will be donated to the Alder Centre:
