On Monday evening the Year 13 Gold Arts Award cohort delivered a fashion show and photography event to showcase their work. The students with technical support from alumnus, Joe, transformed the venue from a school hall into a runway and gallery. Four of the cohort (Orla , Emma , Sophie and Lucy ) chose to study fashion design for their Arts Award. Each student designed and created a collection of five outfits including; occasion wear, festival, up-cycled sustainable and urban fashion. Models from Years 9 -12 displayed the outfits on the catwalk and each designer took a lead role in presenting their work and discussing it with the audience. Molly studied photography and created a gallery style projection of her work which she then presented. The students explained each of their influences, themes and methods. They showed how their skills had developed into a portfolio of work during their Arts Award journey. The event culminated in a Q&A session where the cohort highlighted topical issues relating to fashion and photography and promoted the Gold Arts Award as a very worthwhile and enriching experience!
