Waterproofs and wellies may not be what they’re wearing on the cat walk this year, but it’s what the majority of students were sporting this summer on our annual Year 7 ‘Bush craft’ trip. From Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 June, 49 Formby High School Year 7 students slept under canvas during an adventure in the woods at Cholmondeley Castle. No amount of rain or mud could dampen the spirits of these intrepid explorers as they threw themselves into every activity. The students built shelters and fires, played games in the woods, set traps and put their newly acquired first aid skills into practice in an S.O.S scenario.
Six boys and eight girls braved the elements and spent their second night in the shelters that they had built; while a further 6 fearless students volunteered to sample something from ‘Bush tucker’ lunch menu – fish eyes!
