Driver Safety Seminar

During enrichment this week, a group of 20 Sixth Form drivers attended a Road Safety Seminar as part of the school’s involvement in the Formby Road Safety Initiative, led by Andrew Drewary of Road Safety Smart. The session was designed to give students a deeper awareness and understanding of vital road safety considerations and some problems we need to tackle as a community.  The students were invited to make the pledge to become a Road Safety Champion, identifiying five core positive aims to achieve and five negative issues to address.  After the seminar, students were asked to provide feedback and deemed the content to be extremely helpful, particularly the clarity it provided around pavement parking, distractions and ‘fronting’ car insurance.  Thank you to Road Safety Smart for delivering the session.
