Welcome to Formby High School where high expectations in terms of learning and behaviour means that all students flourish.
The school motto is ‘determined to achieve’ and, through hard work, encouragement and the appropriate guidance, our young people do achieve academic excellence. They are also challenged to participate and excel in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including the performing arts, sport, community service and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. Our students’ ambitions and aspirations are nurtured and their pastoral welfare and personal development is at the core of all we do. They follow a curriculum that is exciting, engaging and tailored to the needs of each individual; a curriculum that allows all students to leave with outstanding qualifications and the confidence and skills required to pursue further study or enter the world of work. Students at Formby High School also develop a keen sense of their responsibility in shaping a better future for themselves and their community.
Formby High School is an ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted 2008) school with specialisms in the Performing Arts and Science. The school has a national reputation for exceptional music, drama and dance and has recently been awarded Artsmark Gold (2012) for the fourth consecutive time. Most importantly, though, the school provides an environment which will enable your child to achieve and, whether through the curriculum, enrichment activities or the extensive range of school trips, pursue opportunities which he/she will find enjoyable, challenging and highly rewarding.
In entrusting the care and education of your children to us, you will be giving them the opportunity to make their own unique contribution to our community and, in turn, to draw on all that we offer to prepare them for their journey through life. I hope you find our website useful and, should you wish to do so, you are welcome to visit the school in person.
