On Thursday 11 January over 140 students took part in our annual ‘The Groove’ dance show to a packed audience at the Epstein Theatre in Liverpool. With over 21 captivating performances from students across Years 7 to 13, the level of talent, collaboration and ambition of our young dancers was very clear to see. Performances featured a range of pieces inspired by topics from stage, screen (both large and small), world culture and life events with fantastic choreography by the Dance Department, Mrs Whitehead, Mrs Harrocks and Miss Gaudie, together with some by the students themselves. Mrs Wilkins, Director of Creative Arts, commented “It never ceases to amaze us how the quality of this event, a favourite on the Performing Arts calendar, just grows better and better every year – the quality and commitment on display this year was awe-inspiring. It is a pleasure to see so many students involved in our dance curriculum from all age groups.” A big well done to all the dancers and everyone who supported the event… the future of dance at FHS is bright and exciting!
