Formby High School is a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive academy with over 1,100 students (including over 200 in the Sixth Form). The school’s motto ‘determined to achieve’ is central to our vision for all aspects of school life, in and out of the classroom, and across the community. The school employs over 140 dedicated and highly effective teaching and support staff who work closely with parents to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students. Formby High School was judged to be Good across all areas in the most recent Ofsted inspection (November 2022). The report highlights how our students are ‘inspired to succeed’ and ‘proud to attend their school’.
We seek to appoint a well-qualified, committed and dynamic Assistant Headteacher who can support Formby High School to provide an exceptional education for its students. As an experienced middle leader seeking progression, or an existing senior leader looking for further challenges, the successful candidate must be an outstanding practitioner with high expectations of students’ achievement and behaviour, who is able to relate to and engage constructively with colleagues, students and parents/carers. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record of effective leadership and be flexible, enthusiastic and resilient team players. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, together with a self-motivated approach and the ability to manage a diverse and substantial workload.
We can offer:
- very welcoming and supportive staff and Senior Leadership Team
- students who are engaged, motivated and respectful
- an excellent CPD programme with opportunities to seek national accreditation
- a focus on staff wellbeing and welfare
- excellent transport links from Liverpool, Preston and Manchester
If this describes you and you are interested in this fantastic opportunity to join the leadership of Formby High School, we look forward to hearing from you!
